Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven unveiled, equipped with black technology motor

Today, at the Mercedes-Benz Technology Innovation Day of the 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show, the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven concept car made its official debut in China. The car is designed based on the classic Mercedes-Benz C 111 experimental car and is equipped with modern technologies, including: YASA axial flux motor, high-performance battery, ultimate aerodynamic body, gull-wing doors, virtual reality cockpit, etc.

The Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven concept car is equipped with an axial flux motor, which was developed by YASA. Compared with the radial flux motor, it is lighter (the weight of the same power is only 1/3) and more compact (the space is only 1/3). (1/3 of radial flux motors), with higher torque density; at the same time, axial flux motors also have more abundant power reserves, bringing strong and long-lasting power output.

British motor manufacturer YASA officially became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz in July 2021. The next generation YASA axial flux motor will be produced at Mercedes-Benz's Marienfeld plant in Berlin and will become a core component of future high-performance pure electric drive systems. The new motor will be first used in AMG.EA platform. In addition, the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven concept car is also equipped with a high-performance battery; based on the technological accumulation and forward-looking concepts obtained by Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrain Co., Ltd. (HPP) through competitions, the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven concept car adopts High-performance liquid-cooled cylindrical battery and innovative battery chemistry technology.

Extremely aerodynamic body

The body of the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven concept car shows extreme aerodynamic characteristics throughout, and reproduces the classic design elements of the Mercedes-Benz C 111 with the latest technology.

The height of the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven concept car is only 1170mm. It is equipped with a low wind resistance profile, black skirts, blade-type aerodynamic components, rear diffuser, etc., showing a unique styling design.

Renewable materials create a sporty and luxurious cabin

The cockpit of the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven concept car uses a "VIP lounge" design, which perfectly combines driving control and luxury.

The cockpit of the new car can be set in multiple modes, including track mode (similar to the bucket seat of an F1 car) and leisure mode (diamond spliced seats). At the same time, the dashboard in the car is made of 100% renewable polyester material, and the leather is made of coffee bean shell tanning process.

It is worth mentioning that the cockpit of the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven concept car uses digital simulation technology extensively to connect the physical and virtual, bringing a new interactive experience. Among them, the front of the cockpit is equipped with a pixel screen across the front row, which can display vehicle driving information; and the steering wheel with a high-resolution touch screen can display real-life images. In addition, after users wear Magic Leap 2 AR glasses, they can also experience 180-degree augmented reality vision, seamlessly integrating with the real world, and map elements can also be projected into the virtual environment; at the same time, the AR glasses can also achieve transparent A pillars, transparent doors, transparent hood and other visual effects.
